Today I am linking up with Amber and Erin for their #12daysofblogging.
Day #1 is all about your tree and home decor. I am so excited about our little house for the holidays this year. This year we have a ginormous real tree. There is a funny story behind this little beauty too. So Ryan and I headed out to the Christmas Tree lot Friday night in search for the perfect tree. It is the first year that we can get a real sized tree and not a baby tree that sits on an end table. I was determined to get a 9 foot tree. So as we are looking in the lot ::while it is what seems like negative 25 degrees outside and raining:: we start talking about why we are outside. Well it turns out that Ryan thought that I loved real Christmas trees and me the same for him. I thought that we were getting one because he loved them and I didn't mind doing that if he wanted it. I was WRONG! Ryan's family apparently never had a real tree and neither did mine! We were both getting a real tree for the other. It is so sweet but definitely not something that we will be keeping up. LOL. So I will fully enjoy this gorgeous tree and after the holidays I will search for one on a good sale and have that for many years to come.
The hubby and I crack me up. We constantly find ourselves doing this and I think it happens more around holidays than any other time. At least we know that we both do it out of love and consideration for the others' feelings.
I hope you all enjoy our beautiful tree. Can't wait to link up tomorrow with our favorite ornament!
p.s. do not mind that the bottom is empty. we have a pup pup with a very active tail and don't want things to get ruined by it in all of her excitement! :)
awww, i love that story about you and your husband both thinking you were doing what the other wanted! that is so sweet! i have seen so many trees with the bottom halves empty because of the dogs in the house, that never occurred to me, but makes so much sense!
ReplyDeleteI know! We are a bunch of silly billies around here! And yes, our little one thinks that her tail is the size of a peanut instead of really the size of a small sword. And last night I caught her nibbling on the tree as well so I'm glad we didn't put anything down low near her. Thanks for letting me be a part of the link up! It is fun!
DeleteYay! Your yarn Xmas tree craft! So cute :)
ReplyDeleteI know!! I'm so excited about it! I am going to do a post on it soon hopefully. That and my Tassle Garland.
DeleteYour decor is beautiful! It has a little bit of a rusticy feel? I love that :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes, everything in our house is somewhat rustic. We have a love for the outdoors and trees. We have many prints and other items that are centered around trees and wood. :) I might do a post on those items one day soon :)
DeleteI'm crazy about the Santa, I wish I could find something like that. It's absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing. Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteKeep it Sassy & Classy,

Thank you! I found him at Kohl's last year. The days are little doors that open to a little box where you could put candy or a sweet message.
