Well I had an idea, but now that we are actually starting our search, the list just keeps growing.
I have been trying to break things up into separate trips since I know that it can all be overwhelming. We have gone on two trips now to determine a crib and a stroller.
Here is a list of the items that we want :)
CRIB
This is the crib that we have picked out for Baby Hughes. We love the simplicity of it and that all 4 sides are the same height. We debated about getting a traditional sled-like crib but opted for this one so that we can put it anywhere in the nursery and change the layout as many times as desired without being restricted to having the "back" up against a wall. It is also convertible so it will essentially last Baby Hughes until they are a giant and no longer fit in a twin sized bed :) I am extremely happy with our choice and can't wait to get it and set it up for baby.
STROLLER
Strollers, strollers, strollers. Who knew that finding one you can A) work and B) like would be such a task. Ryan and I were probably in the store messing around with strollers for an hour. We finally came to a conclusion of liking this one. This is the Baby Jogger City Select and we love how it can easily be made into a double stroller by just buying a few attachments. The only downside to this stroller is that there is no cup holder, but we haven't bought it yet, so there might still be a change. But as of right now, this lovely thing will be holding our precious baby by Fall :)
CARRIERS
So carriers are something that we will definitely be utilizing, although we have not gone to look at them and try them out yet. I like the above because it doesn't have any ties or twists needed. It seems like it would be the easiest to put on/off by yourself while holding an infant. We will most likely start looking at carriers in April, so if you have any recommendations, please let us know! :)
PUMPING
So this mama will be doing everything possible to breastfeed. Ryan and I have both agreed, along with our doctor and nurse practitioner, that we will be breastfeeding if possible. With that being said, I can't be a stay at home mama forever so pumping will be happening. With that comes the need of a fantastic pump since I will be doing it at work. I am leaning towards the above. Once again, we have not searched and talked about any pumps yet and will be doing that shortly, but this is sort of what I am interested in.
If anyone has suggestions or recommendations we are more than happy to hear them and take them into consideration. :)
amen.
ReplyDeletebaby stuff - especially strollers can be overwhelming.
There are so freaking many options.
Each one, slightly different than the last. So frustrating at times.
