My First Mother's Day

As much as I considered myself a mom last Mother's Day, I was 6 months pregnant and didn't have a little babe here to snuggle yet.  But this year, you best believe I embraced all things Mother's Day!

Last Mother's Day 6 months pregnant in Lake Tahoe for my mom's birthday/Mother's Day
I had a huge, fun weekend planned...and just like most of our weekend plans do, they feel through due to the fact that we all fell under the weather on Friday night.  We spent the majority of Saturday morning napping and snuggling and eventually bathed and got out into the sunshine.  We went home and snuggled some more before calling it a night.  Overall, it was still a good Saturday even if it wasn't spent out on the water in a boat like we had originally planned.

Sunday morning came around and after a rough night of sleep due to me being sick and my asthma kicking in, the hubs let me sleep an extra two hours after snuggle muffin woke up!  Talk about a present in and of itself!  SLEEP!  Once I woke up I gave them both loves.  They greeted me with a big "Happy Mother's Day!" and I couldn't have been more excited.  I snuggled my little muffin on the couch and the hubs went to get my present.  I knew that he had got me something but had no idea what it might have been.  I was completely shocked when he pulled out this beauty!

WHAT!!!???  Did he read my post from Friday knowing that this was my number 1 present wish and get it that fast without me noticing???  NOPE!  He had planned it!  I love that man of mine!

So now get ready for some wayyyyyy better looking photos!!!  I am still in shock!  I can't believe I have an actual nice camera to take pictures of our family with!

After that excitement we got dressed and ready to go for the day.  We had lunch plans with Ryan's parents for Mother's Day at 11.  We packed up and headed South and being the early birds that we always are, we stopped to get my car washed and still got there 30 minutes early.  They weren't open yet, so we parked and let Snuggle Muffin have some serious big boy play time in the front seats with us.  It consisted of "driving," honking the horn and blasting some tunes to dance to with Mom and Dad.  He thought he was the coolest kid in town!

After a delicious lunch we headed home and hung out the rest of the day.  We ended up going for a nice family walk after Caleb's dinner and even took Hank.  Poor HankyPoo doesn't go on many walks because he isn't very good on a leash when Ryan isn't around.  We are working on it though and he thought he was a super big boy when we took him to the school yard near our house and let him walk off leash while in Heal mode.  I tell you, our boys are easy to please. :)

I can't explain to you how amazing it feels being a mom.  I have wanted and wished for it my whole life and now that it is here it is so much more amazing than I could have ever imagined!  The love I have for Caleb is really indescribable and I wish all people could experience this feeling.  I look forward to many more Mother's Day celebrations with Hank and Caleb and whatever other little ones may join our tribe.  Until then, I hope you had a great one too!
