Linking up with Karli and Amy

::ONE::  We booked a vacation and will be leaving in 10 days!  We are going to CO to see our family including our newest nephew LOGAN! :)

::TWO::  I have written and scheduled 6 posts!  6!  That has been unheard of since I've had Caleb I'm pretty sure!

::THREE::  We are at the last day of the Move Your Booty Challenge and I can say that I have completed it!!! I am so proud of myself!  Now let's hope that I'm the lucky gal who wins the moolah!!

::FOUR::  I got Caleb's party invitations in the mail last night.  I am so excited and sad all at the same time.  But like it or not he will be 1 in a little over a month and it is time to get in gear and make this party happen!  Friends, family - check your mailboxes next week for your invite!

::FIVE::  I am starting my 31 different outfits in August challenge tomorrow and I can't wait.  I am excited about these challenges.  It is a good way to keep my mind focused and it gives me an ultimate goal to go after.  Are you joining me?

It's Friday? Thank Goodness!

It's Friday and I couldn't tell you the last time I linked up with my favorite farming gals, Karli and Amy.

ONE: CALEB'S FIRST BIRTHDAY
I know I'm a little early, but my baby will be ONE in just a little over a month!  How is that possible?!?  **queue all of my mommy heartstrings and tears**  We will be throwing him a little shindig at our house Labor Day weekend and I have already ordered the invitations.  I am so happy that Karli decided to open her newest adventure Party Paper and will be helping us out with matching paper items for his big day.  Nothing more exciting then matching items at a birthday party!

TWO: LOGAN BRADLEY WISSINGER
We are so thrilled that our newest nephew has joined the world.  My sister-in-law and brother welcomed their newest bundle of love to the world on Tuesday morning and we are all in love.  They live in Colorado and we are hoping that we will be able to make it out there next month to meet him.  Auntie and Uncle can't wait to give him baby snuggles!

THREE: MOVE YOUR BOOTY CHALLENGE
I joined my gals Karli and Amy for the Move Your Booty Challenge which has a goal of taking 200k steps in the month of July.  I knew that my work would make that hard but that is why it is called a challenge, right?  Well I am happy to announce that with 7 days left I only have 46k left - completely doable!  Although I am not kicking ass in the step department, I will complete this challenge and it has been holding me accountable.  I have lost 1 pound since July 1st, which is awesome considering that I am doing no other exercise besides these steps.  LOL.  Thanks gals!

FOUR: GARAGE SALE
Last weekend we held our first garage sale.  I was super excited to earn some money and get rid of stuff that we never use.  The morning started out great and we were making money.  I was on a high.  As the morning continued and the sun made it warmer outside things slowed down and I lost my motivation.  Overall, it was successful and we made money that we didn't have before.  We plan on putting everything out again tomorrow and trying to get rid of the rest of it.  Whatever doesn't sell tomorrow we will try to consign on base and after that it will get donated.

FIVE:  FUTURE PLANS
Is it weird that I am excited for our family pictures in October already?  Is it odd that I am already thinking about what our Christmas cards will look like this year?  I can't help it, but I am so excited for this year of holidays.  Caleb will be old enough to really enjoy things and it just makes us so excited!

I hope you all have a great weekend.  Maybe next week I will be able to finally blog about fourth of July and what we have been up to lately. :)

April Confessions

Back again for another month of confessions with Heather from Notes from the Nelsens.
I missed last month and that is part of my confession for this month.  I have a hard time finding a good balance between work, family and blogging.  I have to work.  We live a great life and in order to maintain that, we both have to work.  I love working and helping to provide a great life for our family, but of course, I wish I could stay home with Caleb.  I wish that we could go on educational adventures and make sure that I don't ever miss a milestone because of him being with family and me being at work.  But that doesn't work for us right now, and it is okay, but difficult.  Also, blogging.  I love blogging.  I have so many post ideas and plans for writing them, but when it comes to 7:00 PM each night and Caleb goes to sleep, I want to snuggle with my hubs and go to sleep rather then staying up and writing post after post.  Blogging takes the hit and I am glad that it is an inanimate object so it doesn't get it's feelings hurt.  But it hurts me.  I want to be better at it.  I want to not forget things when I am older and when my kids are older.  I want this to be a place full of our memories and if I don't post them, it won't be.  I am going to try and find a good balance this next month and hopefully next month's confession is all about doing that.

Waking Up.  My husband hates this trait of mine...but I have a serious addiction to the snooze button!  I set my alarm for 4:00AM every morning and am lucky to get out of bed by 5:00!  I leave my house at 5:30 each morning and as much prep the night before so that I can just get up and go, getting as much sleep as possible.  He hates it, I love it.  I just can't get up when it first goes off.  I have never been a morning person and now having to get up so much earlier to take Caleb to someone's house before being at work at 7:00AM makes it all that much more difficult.  But luckily for me, he is already gone for the day by the time my alarm goes off so he doesn't have to deal with it.

Eyebrows.  I am sooooo bad at keeping up my eyebrows.  I am trying grow in the portion above my nose because I tend to get tweezer happy and go to far and then they are way too separated.  But by trying to let that part grow, I neglect the rest of them.  I am not proud, but I can honestly say that this morning I took care of them and hopefully won't let it go for another 8 weeks or so. :)

Breeding Hank.  If you read my post here, you will know that this was awkward.  We haven't heard yet if it took, or how many puppies she is carrying, but we are hoping to hear by the end of this month.  I hope it worked because we know a lot of people who want Hank's puppies and are eagerly awaiting this puppy-making.

Caleb Boycotting Food.  Last month Caleb refused to eat any foods I made him.  He was fine with Gerber, but anything made by Mommy was a no-go.  It hurt my heart.  It made me frustrated.  I know that babies go through ups and downs with foods, but I got really negative about it.  "I wasted all this money on fresh fruits and veggies and now he won't eat them!"  I'm not proud of it, but it happened.  And just like Caleb changing his mind a week later, so did I.  I would rather spend $5 on fresh fruits and veggies and have him not like them for a week, then spend $20/week on Gerber.  Don't get me wrong either, I love Gerber foods.  They are great for going out to eat around his meal times because we don't have to keep them refrigerated (if not opened yet) or warm them up for him to eat.  But when we are at home, for dinner or lunch, I love him to eat Mommy's food.

Jamming to Little Red Wagon in my new Red SUV.  So we bought a new car for me and I love it and the morning after we bought it, also the first time I drove it LOL, we were jamming down the highway to Miranda Lambert's Little Red Wagon and I was just singing my little heart out!  Luckily, unlike the song, my little red wagon doesn't have a broken axle or a broken front seat, but it is just as cute!  You can read all about our purchase here.

Friiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Happy Friday to you all!

Linking up today with Karli and Amy

::ONE::  New Car!
Yes! Yes! Yes!  This makes me a very happy lady!  I still love it and I know this feeling won't be changing any time soon!  It's been almost a week without good ol' Tori, but I know that this new ride is going to treat me just as good as she did for the past 4 year!

::TWO::  These Shorts!
They came in the mail last night and I couldn't be more excited!  Jordan, of Blue Avenue, has some of the cutest items and all throughout my pregnancy I couldn't wait to order her stuff because it was just sooooo cute!  And now, I'm not pregnant and can clearly rock these bright coral shorts!  Go check out her site and order something fun!  Best thing is...they are on a super sale right now and FREE SHIPPING!!!

::THREE::  Eleventh Avenue
Previously known as GroopDealz, Eleventh Avenue is on point!  I just ordered these adorable pillow cases that will finally give us some matching decoration in our living room.  They are a nice subtle pattern with the perfect amount of grey in them!  The best part...they were only $4.99 each!  Shush up!  4 new pillows for $20!  Can't beat it!

Last week, Jordan of Fun Cheap Or Free, let us in on an amazing deal!  Jane had all three of these look-a-like palettes on sale for just $12.99 each!  She made it known that she didn't know if they were the real deal or actual look-a-likes but I went ahead and ordered them because they look so similar and were such a great deal!  Well, I'm still waiting for mine to arrive, but she posted this week that she got hers in the mail and they are the real deal!  If this isn't some of the most exciting news I don't know what is!  If they are in fact the real deal, I just scored all three Urban Decay Naked Palettes for $49.99 including shipping!  That's cheaper then one palette brand new at Ulta!  So be on the look out for the most excited face picture popping up on IG soon! :)

::FIVE::  Oakley Outlet
Last weekend, before we bought the car, we stopped at the Vacaville outlets.  We never go there, but while we were there I convinced Ryan to let me look for Caleb clothes if he got to go into the Oakley store :)  We went in and Ryan looked into getting replacement lenses for his sunnies.  He is rough on sunglasses but needs good ones so we always get him Oakley ones.  The replacement lenses were $90!  Umm...not going to happen bucko.  You can wait until you need a whole new pair which is only $120.  Well the sales kid must have heard me say that, quietly, and offered to give us the lenses for $60!  Score!  Then Ryan told me to get new ones.  Why are women's sunnies so much more expensive?  The ones I love were $250!  Not going to happen.  The same kid saw me all sad over the price and told me to check out the section in the back.  Walked back there and found the exact same sunnies for me without polarized lenses for $69!  Then he told me he would give them to me for $45!  Ummm....YES!!!!!!!!  Found Ryan a t-shirt for $10 and we were ready to check out.  They open everything up for us to check them out and my glasses came with a soft case.  Ryan was jealous that it came with a case at all and I told him, "Yeah.  My old ones did too, but they came with a hard case."  A different kid behind the counter heard that and asked if I liked the hard case better.  I answered with yes and he took the soft one and came back with a hard shell case!  We made out like bandits there!  Now to let these new sunnies of mine last another 4 years like my last pair :)

I hope you all have an amazing weekend!!!

5 Things...And It's Friday!

Linking up with Karli and Amy.

************************

So today I have 5 things to share, some exciting!

1.  Jaclyn Hill
Can we just talk about how much I am loving her channel???  I just recently discovered it and to say I have become obsessed might be an understatement.  There was a time in my life, not so many moons ago, that you wouldn't catch me without makeup.  Slowly that went away and now we are all lucky if I wear mascara once a week.  I want to get back into it, not too fast, but definitely start stepping up my makeup game again.  I think Jaclyn is hilarious and really beautiful.  Her makeup tutorials are easy to follow along with and the "extras" at the end are hilarious!  If you haven't seen her yet, check it out, NOW!

2.  Baby Weight
So you might remember, a couple months 6 months back, AHHH, I was quite large and in charge with my baby belly.  Since Snuggle Muffin has joined our family I have talked about wanting to lose all of my baby weight, plus some, before we expand our family once again.  We don't want our kids too far apart, so the challenge has been on.  I wrote about it here and when I came back to work, 3 months ago, I still had 5 pounds to lose.  I couldn't lose those pesky little 5 pounds to save my life.  BUT as of this week, I not only lost those 5 pounds, but an additional ONE!  That's right, I now, officially, weigh less than I did when I got pregnant 1.5 years ago!  YAHOOOOOOOO!

3.  Boycotting
Caleb has been on a food boycotting session for the past 3 days and it is getting to me.  He is hungry and crabby but doesn't want the food I'm giving him.  They aren't new foods, nor are they foods that he doesn't normally love.  Babies are confusing, still, after 6 months, and just when I think I'm starting to figure it all out - well as much as I can.  Caleb, please start eating everything again!

4.  Gift Cards
I am a hoarder, we all know this.  Well yesterday I was going through my purse, randomly, and found a ton of gift cards that I still have.  When I was on maternity leave I tried to use all of my gift cards as much as possible, but somehow I didn't.  So yesterday I found some really good ones and I got a couple new pairs of shoes and we went out to dinner!  Both with gift cards and spending very little of our own money!  Yes please! :)

5.  #HughesMove2014
I haven't done a house update in a long time and that is mostly because we haven't been doing anything really major around the house, but this last weekend we started ripping out more shrubbery that we dislike and we are going to start working on the house more again.  The weather is getting absolutely gorgeous (83 degrees yesterday) and we are loving it!  We love our home and can't wait to continue to make it more our style.

5 Exciting Things

Linking up with Karli and Amy as always this beautiful Friday morning.

//one
I will write a more in depth post about this next week, but we have paid off major debt this month and we are soooooo excited about it.  Look for that soon.

//two
I finished the Serial Podcast yesterday and it had me hooked.  It took me less than a week to listen to all 12 episodes and I kept wanting more.  I will say - without spoiling it, although I'm pretty sure I am one of the last people to listen to it - that I was a little disappointed with how it ended.  I wanted more!  I had questions that I feel as though I need to email Sarah with so that she can try and answer them for me.  LOL.  Did you like it?

//three
We are almost a week and a half into Lent and giving up soda is hard.  I knew it would be, but I am tempted daily.  On the plus side?  I've lost 2 pounds since I stopped drinking them!  Whoot! Whoot!

//four
Last Thursday I got rear-ended on my way to work and this week we finally heard that the other party does have insurance and is accepting full liability!  Thank goodness!  My car needs to be repaired and I didn't want to have to pay my deductible for something that wasn't my fault.

//five
We are done with our first week of letting Hank out later in the morning because we have an awesome family that lives next to us.  We haven't gotten any more complaints about his barking and as annoying as it is, I'm glad that I don't feel worried about it anymore.  Plus I'm pretty sure Hank likes the extra attention during the day and snuggling in his kennel while it is still a little chilly in the morning.

********************************
Overall, we had a great week this week.  I have some exciting posts coming next week - hopefully, if I can find the time this weekend to write them.

Hope you all have a great weekend!  Can you believe it is almost March already???

PS!!!!  Don't forget to enter this awesome giveaway!!!

February Confessions

This month was full of hilarious - IMO - things.

Let's just jump right in, shall we?

I made sure that for this month I started a list in my Notes section on my phone so I would remember all the things to confess.  Here are my titles to remind myself, I think they are hilarious on their own.

//Spinning in a circle in CVS
So there I was, running into CVS on the way to a birthday party and I got distracted.  I can't help myself.  Caleb was in the car with Ryan and I could move quicker and wanted to check out the pretty nail polish on my way out.  As I'm walking down the aisle I remember that Ryan asked me to pick him up a razor.  I get to the end of the aisle and without realizing it, I spun.  In a complete circle trying to figure out where the razors might be.  I look up and there is an employee, a male employee at that, staring at me and asking so pathetically, "Can I help you find something?"  Oh man!  I could have died.  But oh well.  I'm a mommy and I got distracted, but at least I got the birthday present and the razor!

//Saying dinner without interruption
Now as much as I wanted to remember everything to confess for this month, I wrote this down and now have NO IDEA what it was about.  I'm sure it was hilarious because I can only imagine what it was about.

//Date night/baby sleepover
We spent our first night away from baby and I might have freaked out, just a little bit.  We went to the movies and straight home to bed for a solid night's rest.  When we woke up in the morning it was so weird to just go straight to work and not having to drop baby off at my mom's house.  I didn't like it, but it is necessary.

//SAMs Club family restroom
Okay, so this is more of a pissed off moment, but funny once you hear it.  I have been going to SAMs Club for a while now and ever since I've had Caleb he has been good and things worked out to where I never had to change him while we were there.  Until one day.  I went into the Women's Restroom, into the large stall that usually has the changing stations in them and low and behold, no station!  There is a Koala kid station for you to strap your kid in while you go to the bathroom, but for my infant who couldn't, at the time, sit up yet, it was too big.  What the hell?  Luckily I had the stroller with me and I just changed him in that.  Fast forward to 2 weeks ago and I needed to go to SAMs club.  I get Caleb out and he had pooped!  I, completely forgot that they didn't have a changing station, and marched all the way to the back of the store - which tell me why bathrooms are usually in the back?  I have to pee so bad usually I can't walk that far! I digress - only to get in there and remember that they don't have the changing station.  I run all the way back out to my car, change him and march back inside to pick up the formula that we so desperately needed.  Now fast forward, once again, to one week ago when I went to SAMs club by myself for a couple of items and needed to uses the restroom.  The Women's Restroom was "closed for cleaning, please use Family Restroom"  What the F***???  There is a Family Restroom?!?  Let me tell you, it's nice!  Such a nice changing station and privacy for you and your babes.  Ugh!  At least now I know.

//Not folding and putting Caleb's clothes away for 3+ weeks
This is horrible.  All I can say though is that at least they have been clean?  I always make sure to do Caleb's laundry every weekend before ours.  He goes through a lot of clothes now that he is eating.  They also end up staying in the dryer and I pick his outfits out from there or they get moved to the spare room bed and they lay there.  #mommyproblems

//Folded and arranged Caleb's clothes, but still not put away
I was so proud of myself!  I spent over an hour on a Sunday folding all of Caleb's clothes.  Man does that boy have a ton of cute stuff!  I need to start rotating his outfits better.  I want him to wear them all as much as possible before he grows out of them.  Anyways.  So I spent all this time folding and I was getting ready to move them into his nursery and put them in his dresser when he went down for a nap.  I had plans with my mom and by the time I had to leave he was still sleeping.  I moved the piles to the spare room bed in hopes that I would put them away Monday after work, but no.  They are still laying there.  But on the plus side?  I arranged them by drawer so I just have to take the piles and plop them into the dresser.  Hopefully that has happened by the time you are reading this.  :)

Happy confessions!

Thank Goodness It's Friday!

Linking up with my favorite Idaho Gals today, Karli and Amy for Happy Friday Y'all!

[ONE]
Who else is excited that TGIT is back?!?  This girl is! ::insert thumbs up emoji now!::  I love me some Doctors, Lawyers, and Murder!

[TWO]
SuperBowl is obviously this weekend and I can't wait to try and make some fun football - themed desserts :)  I'm thinking about these?  What do you think?

[THREE]
Caleb is not liking - read hating - squash!  We have tried squash for a little over a week now and he just doesn't like it.  We have tried little bits here and there and we have decided to move on.  I plan on writing a post on this and more next week.  Stay tuned. :)

[FOUR]
It was a gorgeous 68 degrees here yesterday and I am longing for Spring, Summer and Fall right about now!  I want flip flops, evening strolls and popsicles NOW!  Oh January, how you make me lust for April - November.

[FIVE]
Next week, Wednesday to be exact, I will have a 5-month-old!  How is that even possible?  Where did my little snuggle muffin go?  He is getting to be such a big boy!

Thank Goodness It's Friday!

We are linking up with Amy and Karli today.

Five things that are on my mind today

ONE
These Ponte Leggings!  I just got the black pair for my birthday and I am in love with them!  I am probably definitely late to the game on these, but I already went and got the same pair in gray and can't wait to find other colors.  I love them so much I might even dedicate an entire post to talking about them.  LOL.  Fashion blogger?  I think not.  But a comfy mommy blogger? YES indeed!

TWO
EOS Lip Balm.  I first got one in a baby shower gift from my cousin.  I had always heard of them but never used one.  I started using it in July, when I was very much pregnant and my lips needed some extra attention, and have been hooked ever since.  I got the Summer Fruit as a gift and then went and bought the Pomegrante Raspberry.  For Christmas my mom got me Strawberry Sorbet, Honeysuckle Honeydew and Lemon Drop.  I am so excited!

THREE
Lamaze Toys!  My little snuggle muffin has multiple Lamaze brand toys and he loves every single one.  They all jingle and jangle, make scrunchy noises and entertain him to the fullest.  I wish I was the inventor of these.  GENIUS!!!

FOUR
I have yet to complete my new recipe of the week, but I printed it out and have every intention of completing it tomorrow.  Better at the end of the week than never, right? :)  I can't wait to post all about it next week.

FIVE
My wonderful friend, Marie, is working on a new design for my little ol' space and I can't be more excited!  She worked wonders for me just over a year ago and now that we have a little and things have been changing I thought it would be nice for this little space of mine to get a little makeover as well.  Here is some inspiration we have for the new design.

 I hope you all have a fabulous Friday and weekend!  Come back next week for more updates on our life and hopefully a recap on how my pinterest recipe went! :)
