Baby Hughes #2 - 39 Weeks

  • How far along are you? 39 weeks!
  • How I'm feeling: I am definitely a bit disappointed that I am still pregnant, but I know that this little boy will come when he is ready.  Other then being ready to meet our little E, I have been sick since 36 weeks so that has been completely miserable.  I've gotten cough syrup with codeine, 3 inhalers and a z-pack.  I am finally feeling back to "healthy".

  • Total weight gain:  I have gained 18 pounds.  I am really proud of myself for keeping the weight under control this pregnancy, although as I have said before, it is probably just because I have been chasing Caleb around and haven't had time to gain weight.  Baby E is healthy though so that is all that really matters.
  • How big is baby? Baby is size of a pumpkin today!  I definitely feel like there is a pumpkin inside of my belly too!  Baby E should be weighing about 7.23 pounds and be 19.9 inches tall.  However, at my 38 week appointment my doctor predicted that he is almost a pound smaller then Caleb probably.  He is a tiny boy as far as she can tell.
  • Maternity clothes: Always yes.
  • Sleep:  Sleeping is still impossible and with being sick it has only gotten worse.  I am still loving my pregnancy pillow but cannot wait to be able to lay on my stomach again, although if I can nurse this time around I realize that will still be a ways off.

  • Best moment this week: We have everything ready for Baby E's arrival.  All items have been purchased and cleaned.  We won't be panicking about not having something (okay, I will no matter what, but we really are good)
  • Movement: Baby E is a mover and a groover.  He is head down but he loves his booty bumps up in my ribs.  I am going to miss feeling him inside my belly.
  • Food cravings: Soda and grapes!
  • Food aversions: Meats have started taking a back burner for me.  I have no real desire to eat any kind of meat.
  • Belly button in or out:  We are definitely flat in the belly button department.  Caleb is completely fascinated by it.  Depending on where Baby E lays it could be out a little as well, but I don't have a constant "turkey's done" button.
  • What I am thankful for: I am thankful that we are still having a healthy pregnancy.  I am thankful that this babe moves around enough every day to let me know that he is happy and healthy in there.
  • What I'm looking forward to: I am looking forward to meeting our little boy.  Hopefully while you are reading this he is making his way into the world?  Wishful thinking I'm sure.  :)

    Baby Hughes #2 - 37 Weeks

So it has been 7 weeks since my last bumpdate and I am incredibly sad about that.  I am actually really sad about how much this pregnancy has not been documented, but due to the craziness that has been our lives this entire past 9 months, I am giving myself a break and not being too hard on myself.

At 37 weeks I am once again sick :(  This is the third time this pregnancy, which if you have been sick just once while being pregnant you can imagine how annoying and frustrating it is for a third time of illness to strike!  I am getting some prescriptions today that will hopefully help me feel better for the rest of this pregnancy.

Overall, this pregnancy has been a whirlwind.  It was definitely not as breezy as Caleb's was, but maybe that is just a little friendly reminder from upstairs that this is our last pregnancy and doesn't want me to enjoy it too much? LOL.  But overall, I still love being pregnant and feeling this little boy move inside of my belly.  I will be so sad when it is all over, but I can't wait for him to join our family!

I have gained a total of 19 pounds this pregnancy and I am really proud of myself.  I blame thank my lovely toddler for this mostly because without having to chase him around 24/7 I probably would have gained double what I gained while pregnant with him (33 pounds)!  I think the fact that I have been sick 3 times, was so nauseous for the first 4 months and alone with Caleb for probably 2 solid months out of this pregnancy were also big factors.  We have 3 (better not be more then) weeks left with this babe in my belly and I am hoping to not gain more than 6 more pounds before he is born.  I have high hopes that since I didn't gain as much weight this time it will be easier to drop the weight this time also.  I will still have that lovely toddler of mine to chase around, so hopefully he helps mommy lose those extra lbs!

I am officially on Maternity Leave.  I started Monday this week and while it was completely weird in the beginning, I am so glad I am taking this time.  I took Mat Leave with Caleb at the same time, but it was just me and Hank so I got bored a lot more easier.  This time I get to enjoy these times with Caleb while it is just me and him left before his brother joins us.

I can't believe that he could be here any day now!  As much as I want to meet him, I am happy keeping him in there for a little bit longer, since this is our last baby.

I should also probably start packing a hospital bag huh?  And install the car seat?  Oh second pregnancy problems! :)

    Baby Hughes #2 - 30 Week Bumpdate

  • How far along are you? 30 Weeks!  We only have a maximum of 10 weeks left as a family of 3!  That is absolutely crazy to think about!
  • How I'm feeling: I am definitely not feeling as great as I was at this point with Caleb.  This pregnancy has been more difficult on my body, but overall, we are both healthy and happy and that is all that matters to us.

  • Total weight gain:  I have gained 12 pounds this pregnancy so far.  I haven't been trying to watch what I am gaining as much this go around as I was with Caleb, but I think chasing after a very active 18-month old toddler has helped keep some of the poundage off.  Also, this little babe still makes me nauseous 90% of the time so eating isn't as appetizing as well.
  • How big is baby? Baby is size of a cucumber today!  He is between 15 - 17 inches long and weighs approximately 3 pounds right now.
  • Maternity clothes: I think this is a silly question.  Obviously I'm in maternity clothes still, have been since week, what? 11? ha!
  • Sleep:  Sleeping is probably the thing that has changed the most between my pregnancies.  I am in so much pain by the time I get to lay down at night from running around all day that sleep is hard to get.  I can only sleep on my sides this time and my back is constantly on fire.  Rolling from one side to the other is also nearly impossible.

  • Best moment this week: I went and bought the fabric for his nursery bedding!  We are having it made ourselves since I couldn't find anything I loved for his room that wasn't $1000!  I can't wait to start getting his nursery put together!
  • Movement: Baby E is definitely starting to move around a lot more these days but he is still a huge tumbler!  He moves his bums from the top of my ribs to my pelvis multiple times a day.  He also only resides on my right side.  Some days I wish he would move to the left to give my right side a mini break.
  • Food cravings: Soda and fruit.  All day, everyday please!
  • Food aversions: I don't have any aversions still, there are just more times then not that I don't have an appetite.
  • Belly button in or out:  We are definitely getting flat in the belly button department.  Caleb is completely fascinated by it.
  • What I am thankful for: I am thankful that we are still having a healthy pregnancy.  I am thankful that this babe moves around enough every day to let me know that he is happy and healthy in there.
  • What I'm looking forward to: I am looking forward to putting together Baby E's nursery.  We have yet to move anything out of the room that is currently our guest room.  We need to take everything out of there, paint the walls and decorate.  We only have 10 weeks! EEEEKKK!

    Baby Hughes #2 - 24 Week Bumpdate

  • How far along are you? 24 Weeks.  I can't believe it has been 8 weeks since my last bumpdate!
  • How I'm feeling: I feeling okay.  I love being pregnant, but this second pregnancy is definitely taking a toll on my back and tailbone more so then Caleb's.
  • Total weight gain:  I have gained 6 pounds so far this pregnancy.  Up until 20 weeks I hadn't gained any weight, but obviously baby boy is now wanting to pack on some pounds.  My doctor wants me to keep about a 1 pound per week gain at this point.
  • How big is baby? Baby is size of a cantaloupe today!
  • Maternity clothes: Oh yes!  And I am ready for the weather to start getting warmer because I have very few items to wear with this big ol' belly during the cold.
  • Sleep:  Sleep is getting more difficult.  Baby E lays super low at night and is not liking me on my tummy anymore.  I am trying to sleep on my side mostly but still find myself being woken up out of no where and I assume it is him telling me to change positions :)
  • Best moment this week: We had an appointment on Tuesday and got to hear his heartbeat again.  He is tumbling up a storm constantly and I love feeling him move around.
  • Movement: This little boy is not a kicker or a jabber at all like his brother.  This little boy is a tumbler!  All he does is somersaults over and over again.  He is starting to become more active during the day, but he does the majority of his commotion at night when I lay down.  He must know it is bedtime and is trying to get all good and snuggled up. :)
  • Food cravings: Soda still, but I am trying to be really good about this.  Fruit, give me all the fruit!
  • Food aversions: I don't really dislike anything more then usual at this point.
  • Belly button in or out:  Still in but getting more shallow by the day.
  • What I am thankful for: I am thankful that this baby is still growing big and strong.  I am thankful for a supportive husband who continues to be my rock through the tough emotional moments.
  • What I'm looking forward to: I am looking forward to seeing our little guy again tomorrow.  We are going back for another anatomy scan to get some more pictures done and as long as I get to see my little boy moving around, I could care less. :)

    Baby Hughes #2 - 16 Week Bumpdate

  • How far along are you? 16 Weeks
  • How I'm feeling: I feel great.  Finally able to eat somewhat normal again, although meat doesn't really ever sound good.  Overall I feel great.
  • Total weight gain:  I went to the doctor's office yesterday and I am still not at my pre-pregnancy weight but it is coming back.  Overall I have lost 4 pounds and gained back 3.  I'm super proud of myself.
  • How big is baby? Baby is size of an avocado today.  Baby now is forming taste buds, growing hair and can hear our voices.  Baby is about 4.6 inches long and weighs less than 4 ounces.
  • Maternity clothes: Still yes.  I hate having to wear dress clothes Monday thru Thursday but it makes me appreciate Fridays and my weekends that much more because I have some really comfortable maternity jeans! :)
  • Sleep:  Sleep is great.  I am still sleeping on my tummy.  Hoping this continues.  I was able to sleep on my tummy until 37 weeks with Caleb so here is to hoping this little babe treats me the same in the sleep department :)
  • Best moment this week: We had an appointment yesterday and this little babe was just tumbling all over the place during the heartbeat scan.  There is a strong, healthy heartbeat and we are right on schedule.
  • Movement: This week has been a major game changer in the movement department.  I feel big tumbles (which I know aren't big at all) and I've felt a few tiny kicks here and there.  Ryan was even lucky enough to feel a tiny jab on Sunday night which made us both ecstatic.
  • Food cravings: Still carbs, sandwiches, soda and fruit
  • Food aversions: Meats are difficult to eat at times but other then that I am fine.
  • Belly button in or out:  In.  But it is definitely flattening already.
  • What I am thankful for: I am thankful that this little babe is still growing big and strong.
  • What I'm looking forward to: I am excited to find out the gender.  We find out on January 9th and we couldn't be more excited.  We both think it is another boy, but we will see :)

    Baby Hughes #2 - 15 Week Bumpdate

  • How far along are you? 15 Weeks
  • How I'm feeling: I feel huge, but they say that happens with the second child.  But other then that I feel great.  I absolutely love being pregnant!

  • Total weight gain:  I don't go to the doctors for another week, but from my at-home-scale I am up 3 pounds.
  • How big is baby? Baby is size of an apple this week.
  • Maternity clothes: Yes, oh yes!
  • Sleep:  Sleep is my best friend just like it was with Caleb at this point.  I am always ready for bed at night and never want to wake up in the morning.  We are enjoying this cold nights at home all together by the fire.

  • Best moment this week: I know Caleb doesn't know what he is doing and it is most likely just because he is fascinated with belly buttons right now, but he has started looking for my belly and giving it kisses.  He also "high-fives" my belly a lot, but we won't count those moments. :)
  • Movement: Nothing definitive yet, but definitely little flutters here and there.
  • Food cravings: Pasta all the time!
  • Food aversions: The smell of alcohol is really getting to me lately but hopefully that will pass.
  • Belly button in or out:  In.  But it is definitely flattening already.
  • What I am thankful for: I am thankful that we are having a healthy pregnancy.  I am thankful for a supportive husband and son who don't get mad when I am having a hormonal moment.
  • What I'm looking forward to: I am looking forward to finding out the gender.  We hopefully find out just after my birthday :)

    Baby Hughes #2 - 13 Week Bumpdate

I cannot believe that we are already done with the 1st trimester of this pregnancy!  I feel as though I have already been pregnant forever and it is still just beginning.

Baby #2 is definitely out and about and wants everyone to know about him/her.  I have been showing, noticeably, for about 5 weeks now which I wasn't prepared for at all, but am okay with.

This baby has been treating me differently then Caleb did so far in many ways.  The biggest difference with this pregnancy this far has been the nausea.  For the first 4 weeks I knew I was pregnant I could barely eat anything.  I was nauseous all day long and ended up losing weight putting me at 4 pounds less then I weighed when I got pregnant.  I thankfully have been feeling much better.  I have gained my lost weight back and am up 1 pound.  I am hoping to keep my weight gain this pregnancy below 30 pounds, so wish me luck!

Another difference this pregnancy has been that I have started to feel little movement.  I didn't feel anything with Caleb until I was 21 weeks.  I think I know what I'm waiting for this time so I am starting to feel things earlier.  I don't feel kicks or anything like that but just tiny flutters and pressure moving from one place to another.  I can't wait to feel this little babe kick and for Ryan and Caleb to feel it as well.

We have our predictions about gender so far for this little babe.  Daddy and Mommy think it is a boy but the grandparents are hoping for a little girl, there are no girl granddaughters yet and for my mom this is the last grandchild most likely.  I am terrified of having a little girl at this point because it is like becoming a new parent all over again.  We have no idea how to raise a little girl, we have a 100% boy in our house and I'm kind of scared of not getting another little boy.  Don't get me wrong though by any means!  I would die to have a little princess running around with our little cowboy.  We will find out in the new year :)

We couldn't be more excited that our family is growing once more.  My due date is Memorial Day Weekend, we really love patriotic holidays (Caleb's birthday will always fall near Labor Day).  1 trimester down, 2 to go.  :)

    38 Week Bumpdate

So I am hoping that this will be my last Bumpdate.  I guess only the little boy inside of my tummy can determine that for sure though.

We went to the doctors on Tuesday and things are moving along nicely according to my doctor.

I was 1 centimeter dilated and 50% effaced.  She stripped my membranes in hopes that it will help labor progress.

We are now in the home stretch and the definite, not so fun, part of the waiting game.

I have gained a total of 30 pounds now and am fine with that.  I assume I will end this pregnancy with a total weight gain of 35 pounds.

The doctor estimates that little boy is around 7 pounds right now which makes me the happiest mama ever!  I was so fearful that we would be looking at closer to a 9 pound baby.  I know things can change, but this positive estimate makes me thrilled - and my lady parts too!

At 38 weeks, Baby Hughes is the size of a celery bunch.  He is approximately 19 inches this week.  He is now breathing and urinating more often and has his meconium ready for his daddy! :)

We have the diaper bag packed and in the car ready to go.

The car seat is also installed.  I am determined that if you have any questions on how strong your marriage is, try installing a car seat and building a crib together.  We survived but it was tough. :)

His nursery is together and ready for him, although there are still a few projects to finish before I will post pictures of it.

We can't wait to meet our little boy.  Please send positive thoughts our way for his safe journey into this world - hopefully while you are reading this :)

    36 Week Bumpdate

  • How far along are you? 36 Weeks and 1 Day
  • How I'm feeling: I am getting ready to pop this kid out.  I am getting so excited to meet him.  With only 4 weeks left it is feeling like Christmas or my birthday sort of :)
  • Total weight gain:  Went to the doctors on Tuesday and we weighed in at 27 over starting weight.  I am super proud of myself for only gaining 4 pounds in the last 4 weeks.  We are on the right track and I am super pleased with that.
  • How big is baby? He is the size of a coconut this week :)  I must say that I find all of these food analogies very confusing...how was he the size of a pineapple a couple of weeks ago and now the size of a coconut?  Doesn't that seem backwards?
  • This week baby: is around 18-19 inches, so they say, and weighs around 6 pounds.  He could come at any point now and survive in this crazy world.  Although I would like him to stay inside for at least 1 more week. :)
  • Maternity clothes: Yes
  • Sleep:  Sleep has hit the challenging point.  I tend to be the most comfy after the hubs gets out of bed in the morning because I can sprawl out but that is only getting me about 20 minutes these days.  I can't wait to relax from now until he is born.
  • Best moment this week: Today is my last day of work!!!!!!  :)  I am starting maternity leave tomorrow and I couldn't be more ready or excited for it.
  • Movement: He still moves like crazy.  He is head down, so that is really exciting, but his legs sure are a kicking my ribs more and more these days.
  • Food cravings: Nope.
  • Food aversions: Nope.
  • Belly button in or out:  STILL IN!!!!!!!! I think I will make it the entire pregnancy! :)
  • What I am thankful for: I am thankful that I get to go out on Maternity Leave 4 weeks before he is due.  I am thankful that I will have time to finish his nursery and get things organized around our house a little more before he makes his grand entrance.  I am thankful that I don't have to do this alone and that my son will be loved by so many wonderful people.
  • What I'm looking forward to: I am looking forward to nesting :)  I have so many plans for the next few weeks and hopefully pushing this kid out will delay some of those :)

    32 Week Bumpdate

  • How far along are you? 32 Weeks and 1 Day
  • How I'm feeling: This week has been rough.  My back, tailbone especially, has not been feeling great.  Hopefully he will shift again soon and the majority of the discomfort will subside.

  • Total weight gain:  Doctors appointment yesterday confirmed that I have gained 23 pounds. She didn't say that she was concerned so I feel okay about it but I don't want to go above 35 total if possible. Wish me luck. :)
  • How big is baby? Baby is the size of a squash this week! :)

  • This week baby: is about 16 inches long and weighs over 3 pounds.  He is most likely head down and preparing for his entrance into the world.
  • Maternity clothes: Yes.  And I finally bought capris and shorts!
  • Sleep:  Getting tougher by the night. I feel bad for my lovely husband who has to put up with it as well.

  • Best moment this week: We heard his heartbeat again yesterday. He is growing strong and healthy. Also, not baby related but Hank Hughes comes home today!!
  • Movement: He is mighty inside my belly. He kicks and punches me all day long. I might have a very active child on my hands. Lol
  • Food cravings: Nope.
  • Food aversions: Nope.
  • Belly button in or out:  My belly button is STILL in!!!!!!!
  • What I am thankful for: We only have 8 weeks left and it is going to be during our hottest months...I'm glad we don't have longer left just because of that factor.
  • What I'm looking forward to: Getting Caleb's nursery together and washing all of his stuff.

    31 Week Bumpdate

  • How far along are you? 31 Weeks and 1 Day
  • How I'm feeling: Starting to get uncomfortable more.  My back is definitely feeling the pressure more so.
  • Total weight gain:  We have an appointment next week so we will see for sure but I'm sure I'm hitting close to 20 pounds now.
  • How big is baby? Baby is the size of a pineapple this week! :)  His daddy's favorite fruit!
  • This week baby: is between 15.2 and 16.7 inches.  He is also weighing somewhere between 2.5 to 3.8 pounds.  He is going through major brain and nerve development.  His eyes are continuing to develop also.  Let's hope he gets his daddy's eye genes because mama was blind as a bat until surgery 2 years ago. LOL.  He also has all 5 senses working now which means that he can clearly hear us.
  • Maternity clothes: Yes.  I need to still go buy shorts and/or capris..
  • Sleep:  Sleeping is definitely becoming more difficult.  I am up at least once a night having to pee and for the first time last night I was up due to being in pain.  My back is hurting and there is nothing I can do in my comfy bed to make that better.
  • Best moment this week: I can clearly tell where he is inside my belly.  I find it so amazing and exciting.  I am lopsided most of the time and he likes to hang out on my right side.
  • Movement: The kicks have definitely lessened but he is still moving in there.  He isn't tumbling as much anymore either.  I'm pretty sure he is running out of room so when I do feel him he is probably asking me to make some more for him.  LOL
  • Food cravings: Not this week.
  • Food aversions: Nope.
  • Belly button in or out:  Belly button is still in!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • What I am thankful for: I am thankful that I have had a great pregnancy this far.  I'm happy that my body seems to agree with pregnancy and I can't wait to see how the next 9 weeks go.
  • What I'm looking forward to: I'm looking forward to meeting him, of course.  I only have 5 more weeks left at work.  I can't wait to get the house ready for him.  I really can't wait for us to be a family of 3 plus the pup pups.

    30 Weeks...Which Means Only 10 Weeks Left

Oh my goodness!  Is this actually possible?  Are we only 10 weeks away from meeting our sweet little boy!?!?  I am in total shock at how quickly this pregnancy seems to be going by.  I am loving every second of it and don't ever want it to end, but I can't wait to meet him at the same time.

I guess if you haven't already figured it out I will let you know what Baby Hughes' name is.

In August, hopefully, we will be welcoming Caleb Tyler Hughes to our family! :)  We cannot be more excited!

We are in love with his name and can't wait to see who he grows up to be.
::If you don't love this name or have a negative connotation with it, please keep it to yourself.  We will not be changing it nor caring what others have to say about it::

Since there are only 10 weeks left of this pregnancy I thought I would reminisce on some things that I can no longer do due to my wonderful baby bump!

    1. See my feet
      • I actually haven't been able to see my feet since I was about 18 weeks.  My bump came out of no where and my feet are tiny.
    2. See my lady parts
      • This just snuck up on me!  It occurred to me the other day when I couldn't remember which underwear I was wearing {because I am a little cray cray when it comes to my undies}
    3. Clip, file or paint my own toenails
      • I clipped, filed and painted my own toenails 3 weeks ago for our maternity pictures and since then have not been able to.  I guess I will just have to go get a pedicure :)
    4. Get pots and pans out of our cupboards
      • Our pots and pans are on the lowest shelves in our kitchen.  I have always had my kitchen set up this way and thought nothing of it.  That was, until the other night I couldn't even bend over enough to get one.  The hubs will be pulling out pots and pans from here on out until Baby C joins us.
    5. Pop out of bed
      • Now there has never been any "popping" out of bed pre-pregnancy, but in the middle of the night when I have to go potty it takes me twice as long to get up and go.
    6. Roll over in bed without actually waking up
      • You know how you just flip and flop at night without even knowing it??  Well not when you are pregnant!!!  This could possibly be my own fault since I am still sleeping on my stomach, but I definitely wake up every time I want to change positions.  Dang bump. :)
    7. Get up in our truck without it taking the life out of me
      • We do not have a bro-d out truck, but we do have a slight lift on it.  Unless the hubs parks right next to a curb so that it boosts me up a little bit, getting in and out of the truck these days takes all my might and a lot of skill.
    8. Wear non-maternity tops
      • My bump sort of sticks out of the bottom of most of my pre-baby shirts.  While it is cute (to my mom) I don't want to seem trashy.  I can still wear workout tops and the hubs shirts of course, but other than that, it is all non-maternity.
    9. Reach the bottom of the washing machine
      • Seems like something you wouldn't think of huh?  Well me either, until I couldn't reach a dang towel this weekend.  I love doing laundry - and by love I mean I like being the one to sort, wash and put in the dryer.  That folding and hanging business is for the birds!  I guess the hubs and my mom will have to start helping out in this department - especially since we haven't washed anything for baby yet.
    10. Make the drive home without having to pee right before I leave work and as soon as I get home
      • Now I have had the world's smallest bladder my entire life but it has gotten worse the further along with this pregnancy I get.  I must go pee before I leave work, drive 25 minutes home and pee the second I pull in my driveway.  I can thank my mama for this wonderful trait :)

I know, I know, these are all #firstworldpreggogirlproblems but I just can't help myself.

Are there any things that you can no longer do due to being preggers?

    29 Week Bumpdate

Hey there lovelies!  Do you remember me??  That girl that used to aspire to blog everyday and would get upset when she didn't?  Well that is me and I have not written a single post in a week now.  I sure missed it, but at the same time, we have been so busy that it kind of took a back burner.  I am sincerely sorry, not that I can imagine anyone but my mama reads these, if you have been waiting for a post.

We are having Baby C's baby shower tomorrow at my house and I cannot wait to see all of our friends and family.  We have quite a bit of prepping to do still so I will be busy cutting paper, cutting cheese - the food not the toots, cleaning the house and getting ready for the big shower :)

Hope you enjoy this week's Bumpdate :)

  • How far along are you? 29 Weeks and 1 Day
  • How I'm feeling: Good.  We are in our third trimester!  How, when, did that happen??

  • Total weight gain:  Went to the doctors on Tuesday and I have gained 17 pounds.  In the normal range but I will be watching what I eat more carefully now since baby boy is supposed to make me gain a pound a week from now on.  I don't want to go above 30 pounds total weight gain if possible.
  • How big is baby? Baby boy H is the size of an Acorn Squash.

  • This week baby: is continuing to grow and his room at Hotel Mommy is getting quite squishy.  He is measuring, most likely, between 15.2 to 16.7 inches and weighs about 2.5 to 3.8 pounds.  We believe he will be long like his daddy so he is most likely on the longer side and normal weight.  Hubs and I were both over 8 pounds, so no 6 pound baby for us.
  • Maternity clothes: It's all I can wear now.  Summer is in full effect and it is getting quite toasty outside.  I am in search of maternity shorts and capris at a decent price.  Here is to the next two months of summer pregnancy :)
  • Sleep:  Sleep has started to get more difficult this week.  I am still falling asleep on my stomach - please hold your gasps, I don't know how or why it is possible, but it totally is :)  I wake up on my back most times though.  Also, I have started getting up every single night to pee and it is not fun.  I know that it is preparing me for when he is here, but I just love sleep so much...Stupid bladder!  The not so fun part about sleeping lately are the charlie horses.  I have gotten two this week alone.  I don't know why it's happening or how to stop them.  Suggestions????

  • Best moment this week: We had a doctors appointment and got to hear Baby C's heartbeat again.  I know that he is in there because I feel him constantly, but it is so nice being able to hear his little heart pitter patter.
  • Movement: Yes.  We got our kick card at the doctors this week also, so we have started doing that.  He is definitely a mover and a shaker this little one inside of my belly.
  • Food cravings: SUGAR!  Which, if you know me at all, you know that I do not like sugar necessarily.  I love soda, no surprise there, but lately all I have wanted is cookies, popsicles, ice cream, etc.  Anything and everything with sugar is sounding amazing and it is taking a lot of self-control to not give in to that.
  • Food aversions: Nope.
  • Belly button in or out:  Belly button is still in!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • What I am thankful for: I am thankful that Baby C is continuing to grow big and strong.  I am thankful that I have a husband who has been able to make it to every single doctors appointment.  I am thankful that I have a mommy willing to do almost anything for me.  Me and Baby C are definitely two of the luckiest people in the world.
  • What I'm looking forward to: Baby shower is tomorrow! :)  I cannot wait.  We are having a Rubber Duck themed shower and I think everything will be super cute and fun!  I promise, unlike some other events that haven't been documented yet on this blog, that I will do a recap and fill you in on all the goodies and decorations.

  • Have a great weekend dolls!  See you back next week!

    26 Week Bumpdate

  • How far along are you? 26 Weeks and 1 Day
  • How I'm feeling: Great.  Baby Boy is kicking a ton now and I feel him all the time :)
  • Total weight gain:  Haven't been back to the doctors again yet, but last time it was only 12 pounds so hopefully no more than 15 by now.
  • How big is baby? Baby boy H is the size of a head of lettuce.  He is most likely between 13.6 and 14.8 inches long and 1.5 - 2.2 pounds
  • This week baby: is continuing to grow big and strong.  His eyes will be opening soon.  He has developed the color on his skin this week and lungs are still getting big and strong.
  • Maternity clothes: 100% unless I am around the house and can still wear regular stretchy shorts and t-shirts.
  • Sleep:  Sleep is still going great.  Still on my stomach and loving it.  Baby boy definitely knows when it is night time and lets me sleep peacefully for most of the night.
  • Best moment this week: We moved into our new house and are getting ready for our little man to join us.  Also, his daddy got to feel him kick again this week which makes my heart melt!
  • Movement: I feel him all the time now.  They told me I would and I am so happy that I do.  I know it is weird, but I always worry that he isn't in there.  But then he will roll or punch me and I know it is just his way of reassuring me that he is still with me :)  I love this little boy!
  • Food cravings: Cravings have definitely calmed down.  Things obviously still sound good when mentioned, but they are way less random now.
  • Food aversions: Nope.
  • Belly button in or out:  Belly button is still in - THANK THE GOOD LORD UP ABOVE!  It won't be too much longer we think, but I want it to stay in for as long as possible.
  • What I am thankful for: I am thankful that Baby H is going to be here in less than 100 days hopefully.  I can't wait to meet him.
  • What I'm looking forward to: We are taking our maternity pictures in two weeks and I absolutely cannot wait.  This weekend we plan on unpacking more and getting things together in the house so that we can have my baby shower there in 4 weeks :)

    23 Week Bumpdate

  • How far along are you? 23 Weeks and 1 Day
  • How I'm feeling: Wonderful.  Getting more excited for Baby H
  • Total weight gain:  Still less than 10, which I am still happy with.
  • How big is baby? Baby H is the size of a Grapefruit this week!  He is almost an entire foot tall by now - which knowing how tall his daddy is he is probably already there.  He should be weighing anywhere from 12.7 - 20.8 ounces.
  • This week baby: His ears are starting to develop and the facial features are forming.  He can clearly hear our voices now and other loud noises around us.
  • Maternity clothes: Everyday.
  • Sleep:  Sleep is still great.  I am still sleeping on my stomach and loving it.  I am getting up in the middle of the night to go pee more frequently but it isn't disturbing me too much :)
  • Best moment this week: We went and looked at what will be Baby H's nursery on Monday and I just got sooo excited!  I can't wait to decorate it for him.
  • Movement: Not really.  He does a somersault every once in a while but other than that no movement.  They told me this is okay for us because of the way everything landed when he was created.  My placenta landed in the front so until he is bigger I won't feel him kick as much.  Plus, I was a pretty "lazy" baby also so maybe he is just like me :)
  • Food cravings: Still Mexican and carbs.  And now fast food always sounds good.  We are staying clear of it, but it is difficult :)
  • Food aversions: Nope.
  • Belly button in or out:  Belly button is still in but the other night it was very close to the top I guess.  The hubs thinks it will pop very shortly.
  • What I am thankful for: I am so thankful that I have had a great pregnancy.  I love everything about it, well maybe not the overload hormones, but other than that :)
  • What I'm looking forward to: Moving into our new house and decorating Baby H's nursery.  We should be getting the paint next week and start decorating in a couple of weeks.  OOOO and we are also registering tonight - which I couldn't be more excited for :)

    21 Week Bumpdate

  • How far along are you? 21 Weeks and 1 Day
  • How I'm feeling: Still great.  I am so happy that I have had a great pregnancy.  I wish everyone was so lucky.
  • Total weight gain:  I have gained 5.5 pounds.  I am so proud of myself.  I know that gaining weight is part of growing a baby was I was deathly afraid of gaining "too much" weight.
  • How big is baby? Baby Hughes is the size of a pomegranate!  He or she is 10-12 inches this week!  Most likely Baby Hughes weighs about 12 ounces.
  • This week baby: Baby is still growing big and strong this week.  Baby has started sucking his or her thumb and opening and closing his or her eyeballs. :)
  • Maternity clothes: Everyday. lol
  • Sleep: Sleep is still my best friend!  I am once again lucky, I believe, that I can still sleep on my tummy.  Baby and I get at least 9 hours of sleep a night with usually one potty break.  It is fantastic.
  • Best moment this week: We found out what Baby Hughes is!!!!  OHMYGOSH!  Que the freaking choir because I am ready to scream it from the rooftops!  I only have to hold it in for 32 more hours and I absolutely cannot wait!
  • Movement: Yes.  Ryan and I both felt the baby move for the very first time together on Monday afternoon while we were sitting on our couch.  The doctors and nurses say that I can't feel Baby H very much yet because of where my placenta landed.  They say soon I will feel Baby H a lot more when they have less room to move due to growing.  It was amazing!
  • Food cravings: Still Mexican food.  And pasta now too.  I love carbs!
  • Food aversions: Nope.  Just the smells still.
  • Belly button in or out:  Belly button is still in.
  • What I am thankful for: I am so thankful to have the best husband in the whole wide world.  He is absolutely the greatest.  He is all the time, but now that I am pregnant, he is even more so.  I love him so!
  • What I'm looking forward to: The Gender Reveal Party tomorrow!  I cannot wait!  I will do a post on it next week hopefully.  And if you are dying to know what Baby H is, make sure you tune in to IG tomorrow to find out first! :)

    16 Week Bumpdate

  • How far along are you? 16 Weeks and 1 Day
  • How I'm feeling: Great!
  • Total weight gain:  We go to the doctor this afternoon but I don't think I've gained more than 3-5 pounds this far.  I am super excited about that.
  • How big is baby? Baby Hughes is the size of an avocado!  About 4.6 inches and 3.5 ounces.  Growing big and strong.
  • This week baby: Baby is growing hair, lashes and eyebrows this week!  He or she is also starting to hear Mommy and Daddy's voices.  Baby's ears have moved from their neck to head and can now hold their head erect.  Baby is also peeing every 40 to 45 minutes!
  • Maternity clothes: Maternity bottoms are a must now.  Tops are fine but pants are snug around the top.
  • Sleep: Sleep is my best friend!
  • Best moment this week: We went and bought The Honest Company's Organic Belly Balm and started using it.  This stuff is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!
  • Movement: I don't think so. :(  I am hoping this week I start to feel something.  Ryan is like a little kid at Disneyland, he cannot wait to feel the little!
  • Food cravings: Not really.  But sometimes certain things just sound amazing!!!  Or I will eat dinner and then want something directly after because dinner didn't satisfy my taste buds.  :)
  • Food aversions: Just the smell of certain things get to me.  The trash usually.  I always know when it needs to go out before Ryan.
  • Belly button in or out:  In!
  • What I am thankful for: I am thankful that this baby is going to be joining our family and is growing big and strong.  All we want is a healthy baby at the end of this.
  • What I'm looking forward to: We are both very much looking forward to finding out what we are having. We are hopefully finding out today!!!!
