Ronin Hughes

So if you follow me on Instagram you already know, but we have a new addition in our family!

We are now a family of 5!  Introducing to you, Ronin Hughes!

Ronin is a Brittany Spaniel and we got him from Olive Hill Kennels.  We had been talking about adding another dog to our family for quite some time and since we are just silly kids getting everything done at once (i.e. get a dog, buy a house, have a baby) we thought, why not now?

We showed up at OHK first thing Friday morning, July 3rd.  We knew that we wanted to get our new pup this weekend because we both had Friday off and Ryan has Mondays off so it would give us 4 solid days to get him used to our house, Hank and hopefully semi-potty/kennel trained by the time they were left alone the following Tuesday.  (We successfully potty trained Hank is 7 days, granted we didn't have a baby or a house that we necessarily cared that much about)

We drove up to OHK and it is a gorgeous property with a house and many other dwellings on the land.  There was no one around - probably due to it being a holiday weekend and like 8:30 in the morning - but it said to "Ring the Bell for service."  Y'all, Ryan rang this "bell" and you would have thought that the gates of a pound just opened up.  It was like a church bell and soooo loud and all you could hear from inside one of the buildings were dogs barking.  Insane.  Caleb was not a fan.  One of the kennel workers came out and greeted us.  He showed us inside, showed us which kennels had pups for sale in them and said he would return in a few moments.

We walked up and down and let me tell you, puppies are so darn cute and when there are 5 kennels full of 5-8 puppies in each to choose from, it gets tough!  I am a dog lover and who doesn't love puppy breath???  Anyways!  We thought we had found the one we wanted and then I snuck over to kennel #5 and saw this cutie!  He was in with a yellow lab, chocolate lab, black lab and a female Brittany.  His cute face, calm demeanor and size had us sold instantly.

The kennel associate came back, we asked to see him out of the kennel, we picked him up, paid and were on our way with Ronin!  All in all I think we were there for maybe 30 minutes, MAX.

Ronin road home on my lap, as we did with Hank.  He apparently didn't feel too well with all of the excitement and puked all over me 4 times for our 40 minute drive home.  This, folks, is why you always bring a towel with you to pick up your new furbabies.

We got home and it was time to introduce Hanky to our new family member.  Hank is always really great with dogs and even with smaller dogs, he doesn't really know that there is a difference.  We let them meet outside, just in case of accidents on Ronin's part, and it all went off great.

Just look at that size difference.  Reminds me so much of when we brought Hank home with Abbie.

The boys have been adjusting very well to one another.  Ronin is part of our crew now and I love it.  #boymomforever

Oh Hey Friday!

Linking up with September Farm and The Farmer's Wife today for Oh Hey Friday!

1.  Happy Halloween!
It is our first Halloween as parents and we are so excited!  As much as I would love to say that we are doing a family dress-up this year, we aren't :(  It is scheduled to rain tonight and my hubby isn't really into dressing up as it is.  But just wait until next year!  I am thinking that we will all be a character from Thor!  LOL  But until then, enjoy the cuteness that is my little boy in his 3 Halloween outfits and stayed tuned with IG to see what he goes out as tonight.

2.  FitBit Flex
That's right!  This mama got a FitBit Flex!  We were at Verizon on Sunday and the hubs put it on the counter and before I could tell him reasons why we shouldn't purchase it right now we got it.  I am so excited!  I have been wearing it non-stop and I am loving seeing my activity throughout the days increase.  It is so nice and will hopefully continue to help me in my Operation Pre Baby Body.

3.  iPhone 6
So this is why we went to Verizon on Sunday.  While we were in Colorado in September we went to Verizon to get Ryan's phone looked at.  We both have had our iPhone 4 since October 2011 so we knew they were on their last leg.  While we were there they were having a deal for the iPhone 6.  Let's just say it was amazing and we bit the bullet.  We got them shipped to us and they arrived last week.  On Sunday we took them in to our local store and got them activated and all pretty.  I am so in love with it and so excited!  I have never had a "brand new" phone!

4.  I have an 8-week-old
I really can't believe it!  My little 7 pound, 14 ounce baby is now 8 weeks old!  It is hard to believe that it was that long ago that I was pushing him out and falling deeper in love with someone than I ever believed possible.

5.  I have a 1 year old
Confused?  Well don't be.  Hank Hughes turned 1 year old on Wednesday!  I can't believe how fast it went.  Granted we didn't have him for the first 8 weeks of his life but we love him just the same :)  I can't believe that he went from being our little 15 pound puppy to a 90+ pound love bug!  Happiest Birthday Hanky Poo!

Do Your Animals Know When You Are Growing Another Human?

I cannot get over how stinking much I love this picture!

This was last night after we got home from our appointment.

Do you think your animals know when you are growing another human?

Ryan and I totally do.

Ever since we found out we were pregnant we noticed more and more that the pups would not leave my side.  Now with Abbie, this wasn't much different than normal because I would be the one who let her get away with things; but with Hank, I was surprised.

Hank is only 3 weeks older than the Bump.  I couldn't believe how much he wanted to be around the Bump while he, himself, is still just a little baby.

I think it is extremely incredible that they know.

I know that they can most likely hear Baby H's heartbeat and I know that they already consider it their pup to care after once he or she is born.

I have always dreamed of having the following pictures reenacted...and now?  I know I will :)

Things that drive me batty...

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I am surely hoping that this week flies by.  I just enjoy my weekends ::and sleeping in:: oh so much!

Today I am going to share a few things that make me batty!  And by batty I mean Bat Shit Crazy!

If you know me at all, and even if you don't, you know that there are things in this world that just get under my last nerve and make me lose it a lot tad.

**********************************

{ONE}
STUPID DRIVERS
Now, I know that this is a very broad category but it really fits.  I cannot stand stupid drivers.  My mom and husband just stare at me while I drive because you would think that these people personally murdered a family member of mine.  On the contrary, they are just annoying!  My mom laughs and laughs when we ride together with me being pilot.  She doesn't understand why I get so upset but still laughs which then just encourages me - yes, I am a little kid.  And of course, my favorite word is the F-Bomb and my mother despises it, so when I am with her I try to sensor myself.  I don't have high blood pressure because, I think, that I don't hold it in, I definitely let my feelings out.  Use your turn signal, go the speed limit and learn how to merge onto a freeway in CA!  You people drive me batty!

{TWO}
PEOPLE WHO COUGH/SNEEZE IN PUBLIC WITHOUT COVERING THEIR FACES
Can we just start with the fact that this is totally DISGUSTING?  I feel the need to run as far away as possible from these people.  The worst is when you are in a dining environment and they do it at the table next to you or behind you.  I can only imagine, and I don't want to, what is flying out of their orifices.  You people drive me batty!

{THREE}
THOSE WHO FEEL LIKE THEY ARE ABOVE EVERYBODY AND EVERYTHING ELSE
This really applies to my job more than anything.  Oh, and people at Starbucks.  You are not the Queen of England or the President of the United States.  Back the EFF up and calm down because no one cares except for you.  This is what I would like to tell these people.  At work, it drives me bonkers when a certain individual acts like he/she is golden and can do no wrong.  Well guess what biznatch ::yes, that is a word:: you do mess up just like everybody else and it's not a huge deal except for the fact that you make it one!  You drive me batty!

{FOUR}
WHEN MY DOGS HAVE ACCIDENTS IN THE HOUSE
Now I know that I can't really get too upset at Hank because he is only 11 weeks old, but come on!  You know where the door is and you know that I cannot handle cleaning up after you constantly!  I swear they both gang up on me and decide that they will each take turns peeing on the same thing inside the house for the whole weekend when their Dad is not around.  One weekend I washed their blanket 4 times in 36 hours because they each took turns peeing on it!  PupPups!  You drive me batty when you have accidents!!!

**********************************

I think this is good for now.  I definitely have a temper and some what short fuse when it comes to things I do not like.  And these four are definitely on the top of my list!  I hope you don't think that I am batty or drive you batty and that you enjoyed my little rant.  Until next time, use your turn signals, cover your mouth, don't act like you are the SHIT, and don't SHIT where you shouldn't.  :)

I have a few goals to accomplish in 2014:
+ be a better wife - although I already spoil him, there are times when we both get a little upity :)
+ buy a house and make it a home
+ become a mommy
+ live a healthier lifestyle - more veggies and exercising
+ eliminate the debt and increase the savings - I work on this monthly but will continue in 2014 and hopefully only have a mortgage and two car payments in the ways of debt.

See you in 2014 - another year older ::literally because it is my birthday tomorrow:: and hopefully wiser in some way
XO
